We are so grateful to our volunteers.
Our Friends of Banksia volunteers provide much needed support, helping us to maintain a variety of social and recreational activities for residents in our residential aged care facility, Banksia Lodge.
Coming from all walks of life, our volunteers assist with transport, games, hand and nail care, shopping trips, dining and tourist outings, the greatly enjoyed sing-alongs, and even helping residents learn new computer skills.
These important contributions help our residents to stay connected with the community, keep active and stimulated, and enjoy a greater quality of life.
Become a volunteer
Volunteering as a Friend of Banksia can be a really rewarding experience – an opportunity to help others, be involved in your local community, and make new friends. Our volunteers assist with a wide range of activities, and we would love to explore how you could be involved.
Naturally, it’s important that our volunteers share Banksia’s values and have interests and skills that will complement our resident support programs. Volunteers will be required to undertake a police check, demonstrate a non-adverse driving record (if providing transport) and participate in a general screening session with our Activities Officer to assess their capabilities and desires and how these can support resident needs and our program objectives.
If you would like to become a Friend of Banksia, please contact us for more information and to obtain a Friend of Banksia Application Form.
